wheres the fish..

Hi everyone,
i think its fair to say that i have been contributing big time in feeding the fishes of the ocean with my burley and bait and with no success in catching any fish in the recent weeks, where are the fish and why is it so hard to catch them from landbased? ive tried every trick in the book, burley, rigs, baits, styles, locations, you name it and nothing.
can someone tell me whats the deal before i go crazy.. is the waters too warm? the weather not right? whats the deal?
i think the fisheries and the government need to work out a deal and close some metro areas for like 5 years for fishing.. its bloody frustrating

Welcome the metro fishing
Welcome the metro fishing mate!! Mate i grew up, up north and have just started getting back into fishing down here in perth!! Very hit and miss and very frustrating with crabs and blowies! Thats why i do weekly up north trips to get my fix. U end up spending to much money and wasting to much time fishing in perth for little reward. Over it
kill it??? eat it!!!!

Time on the water!!
time and patience, unless of course you are landbased then I think some local knowledge and a lot of luck can help. I have had shit days up north and cracker days metro and vice versa. BUT most of the guys who do well metro put in the yards, amass the spots over years and know what depth the fish will be in at what time of the year. Most of them will actually help if you ask the right questions, but none of them are going to give up what has probably cost 10,000+ in fuel and time to gain.

Quick clue.....if the water
Quick clue.....if the water is a bit dirty or cloudy for get about Herring etc they like it nice and clear. I'd be heading up the coast a bit where it's less hammered. I've been killing it lanbased over the last 10 days. Try Guilderton or Ledge. Use plenty of oil in your berley and get the slick going and be patient they will come ;)

I think what a lot of people
I think what a lot of people in Perth don't realise is you fish the season. I rotate what I fish for over the year. At the moment I have been targeting flathead a lot in the river with heaps of success. Don't just fish the same sort of style year round.

ealzee i am in a similar
ealzee i am in a similar situation mate, been fishing the metro waters atleast 15years of my life and in the past prob 3 odd years i have seen a huge decrease in my catches and now this past year its been so shit landbased, i have tried everything like i mentioned and put in more time and see myself going further south with every trip and even then most times come empty handed cuz the ones you do catch are small and go back in.
whatever happened to good old mindarie, you could catch all year round almost... now its full of rubbish and shit that people dump, huge rats and no fish.
maybe ill just head further out of metro but i reckon and im not sure if its a good idea and what others think, they need to have some bans in specific locations so that certain areas get cleaned up and have time to recuperate. i think the fisheries in SA do this for some locations.

I dont know mate.. maybe i'm
I dont know mate.. maybe i'm just comparing the fishing I grew up with up north like exmouth, coral bay, point samson etc to the fishing in Perth. Keeping in mind those places are some of the best fishing spots on the globe! I have had some good sessions in perth all year round but i guess nothing compared to the ones up there. Just alot of patience like Simon C said and things do come your way
kill it??? eat it!!!!
