YTK - West End Rotto

Mon, 2009-12-21 12:11

Hi 1992 - I had a dive South of Rotto on Saturday, got our limit so decided to have a second scenic dive at West End in the sanctuary near Fish Hook Bay. I saw about 15 YTK all schooled up, looking hungry. A great site... So they are here!

hey dude kingys are around in plagues at west end atm a guy came into work said he trolled for mackeral on sat but he got about 10 YTK's instead all around 90-100cm just off west end so as soon as the weather turns we'll get out there for a troll. Only place worth a crack off the rocks is to go to rotto and just fish west end from the shore with poppers, Plugs and slices or bait fish under a balloon or baitcast mulies

Yellowtail Kings arent

Mon, 2009-12-21 19:06

Yellowtail Kings arent prolific in WA.  Hope they are being released or a respectful take occurs so they get to 35 kilos.  Theyre not fantastic eating so they make an awesome sportfish.

With the release fo hundreds off Cervantes I think there should be some menace int he next couple fo years. Laughing

Heaps of reports of Spanish Mackeral up and down the metro too.  Goin off!Cool

Most aussies haven't discovered the delightful flavours of smoked fish yet so I won't go there, but don't tell anyone. Wink
