what to do when catching a tagged fish
Hi guys well most of you would know I have been tagging fish with a group of other fishers .Mostly dhu fish ,snapper, breaksea cod.We have tagged around 80 fish and have had 9 recaptures over 3 months. Some more than once .All fish have been tagged out of Two Rocks in depths from 30-45m.Each tag has a phone number and a tag number on it .The tags are yellow and are 40mm long .When out fishing if you catch a tagged fish and release it could you please take down the tag numbers and Phone number and report the capture. If you keep the fish as half the fish tagged are size just pull out the tag and ring the number or pm me through the website. We don't need gps marks of where you got it but depth and size if possible. There is a lot we can learn from the recaptured fish .I am putting in a lot of hour and expence into tagging these fish along with others and without the help of fellow fishers these tags are useless .I keep all tag numbers ,depth and gps marks ,sizes, sex and other info on the fish tagged.and would like to share it with the members on the site .I think you will find it quite intresting thanks
