I had a look at the mouth a couple of months ago. She was pretty shallow, and has been for a while (it was low tide). Maybe the sand bar has shifted - how shallow was it timboon?
The mouth has got significantly deeper since christmas but it's still Walpole. The channel is now to the beach side of the reef with the marker ( last ten years has been on the rocks side). Our boat (a 6.8 plate) has been through a couple times mid to late January. Be aware of the tides and any swell as it breaks from the beach all the way to the rocks.
