Unlikely Hypothetical

10 avid fisherman go to Rotto landbased. They head to their favourite platform and catch 10 dhuies and 10 blackarse and 30 kingfish between them. I am assuming this legal?
I am assuming bag limits apply but not boat limits considering they are off the rocks.

I guess
I guess you are correct but if you NEED to know just flick fisheries an email and they will confirm it for you.
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !

no,
you could transport the fillets in a foam esky in a light weight fixed-wing aircraft, and fly them to Jandakot, then go catch more dhuies black arse and kingies, along with your 8 daily crays, 10 blue mannas, 15 squid, and 9 litres of mussels, all from the rotto shoreline.

I think i have read that if a boat is involved in any way to catch the fish or get to the fish then yes you need a rfbl. Dont quote me and i cant research cause I'm getting the boat ready. Heading to rotto sth end tomorrow

Im hearing you sandbar, I got
Im hearing you sandbar, I got busted for using my tinny to get to a landbased spot with no "rfbl'. My arguement was "Its called a Rec Fishing FROM a boat Licence' and I didnt fish from my boat'? didnt work
In fisheries' mind, Id say you need to get one if your using the ferry to get to rotto and transporting the fish back would exceed the ferries bag limit. Which would probably be classed as a charter in your court case. Your guilty until you can prove your innocence with fisheries.

I doubt it.As we have seen
I doubt it.
As we have seen before many times, if you are skipper and one of your deckies turns out to have an expired licence it is the skipper who gets it in the ass.
So go for ya life, you wont be charged it'll be someone elses problem

Recreational Fishing from Boat Licence (RFBL)
Reference DoF Recreational fishing guide published August 2013 pages 37 - 38
Recreational Fishing Boat Licence
You need a Recreational Fishing Boat Licence (RFBL) for any fishing activity from a powered boat including:
. line fishing (handline, rod and line, squid jigging.)
"Recreational Fishing from Boat Licence (RFBL)
You require an RFBL for these fishing activities even if you are returning your catch to the water.
You also require an RFBL, when a powered boat is used to transport your catch or fishing gear to or from a land based fishing location, including an island or sand bar.
You must produce your licence when requested by a Fisheries and Marine Officer"
In answer to the question of do you require an RFBL the reference says you do.
The 2013 copy of this publication is the last one I have got, after reading this stuff I just gave up.
I can't afford to have a queens council and two advising solicitors accompany me on fishing trips to ensure that I don't breech any fishing regs.
Beam me up scotty these people have lost the lost the plot,
fishing is supposed to be a relaxing pass time. Yeah right It's enough to turn your grey hair white.
