No limitations hey? Ill have "Aussie Rules" then

Fri, 2009-03-13 19:50

An unrealistically affordable trailerboat i would like if I won lotto would be something along the lines of the biggest trailerable fibreglass hardtop cat available.

A more realistic boat I do plan to buy sometime before I die (After the home extension is finished) is something along the lines of a 7m hardtop Razerline or Jackman type setup.

good choice on the razerline kane,my old man has the 7m hardtop with 225 horses on the back.its a great boat but my ideal boat would have to be a big cat with plenty of deck space and lockable cab.(gotta hide the toppo's somewhere)    Surprised

30ft plate with good cabin and 6cylinder diesal inboard, crayboat style, with lasers that zap seagulls and blowies, like the ones in starwars.

i would love to get an ex cray boat and totally deck it out with all mod cons and just go where you want to go, but has to have at least a queen size bed, standard boat beds are too bloody short

crayboats both Bob &  love, watch them all coming in at Leeman and they seem to just glide throught he water any weather, yes our dream too, the tender would be the old seeker and have it moored at Leeman with our mansion across the road, buy a new tractor to take her out the water for the winter.  Not far to Jurien to get her serviced and hull down, just need to win lotto to full fill our dreams.  Doesn't cost anything to dream though.

Big fiberglass centre cab. Massive range for extended GT trips. Enough room in the cab to store plenty of gear.

from haines hunter .Im with you on that or even a 23 walkabout noosa cat.I would be more comfy putting that into casting range than a 800 thousand dollar wally boat.Even though it has a great casting area at the bow it is still alot of cash to have around a reef system.

cant remember who i asked about that one a while ago, but aparanyly you would have exhaust issues,

plus it would be a bugger putting the tank under the boat, could rust out too quick and just imagine the dragLaughing

yes

Sat, 2009-03-14 07:43

yes, you can as long as the fitment is done by a licenced gas plumber, DPI approved and the gas storage cylinders are above the deck or off the back on the marlin board.

I am looking at LPG injection on my turbo diesel to improve the fuel usage and up the power. Main issue is where you put the big gas cylinders. I intend to use 2x 48kg cylinders on the back of the marlin board.

In Brasil, most yammie outboards run off a 9kg LPG cylinder.

octopussy

Fri, 2009-03-13 20:18

that big one that bill gates's mate owns. was up in exmouth a year or 2 ago. i think its the 2nd largest privately owned yacht in the world or something.

he gets his crew to steam it to wherever, then he flies over and gets on it for the weekend or whatever, does a couple of dives, buggers off, gets his crew to steam it to somewhere else on the planet, and does it again the following weekend.

dunno whether he is single or not, but i'm guessin there is more than one kind of diving happening on that boat, or at least there would be if i owned it...

Hi Ya,Yep, Octopusy for me

Mon, 2009-03-16 13:09

Hi Ya,

Yep, MV Octopus for me too.  Mind you, couldn't afford to fill the tank on the tenders let alone the ship itself.  And it is only one of three such boats Paul Allen has.  One of them was built with extra head room so his basketball team could fit on board comfortably!!

http://xo.typepad.com/blog/2005/05/paul_allens_oct.html

It is the worlds 4th largest private yatch, sencond largest non 'head of state' yatch.

Cheers.

Was over in Auckland to drive a boat back to Oz during the America's Cup in 2000.Some of the bling boats that were there made the mind boggle
150+Foot sailing boats where the back swivels up to reveal a 30ft launch with 2x jetskis on either side, chase boats for the cup yachts that were 30foot with the inflatable skirts like the Niads with 4x250hp outboards on the back. You could pick the rich teams by the number of tenders and the engines on the back of them

24.5 degrees of deadrise - can float big twins easily - and regardless of size can cruise at mid 20s in anything the west coast can dish up - if only i had the balls when the dollar was @ 0.97. Maybe next time ?????

this first one is similair to the wally's that slothwan mentioned above, not sure if they are same co. or not???

http://fjordboats.com.au/

and also just for some cruizin:

http://www.halvorsenboatsales.com.au/enter.html

but the one carnarvonite  mentioned sounds pretty nice. not sure if i would bother with the sails though, would just rip them off and throw a few big penta's in it... one day!!!

there are a few hybrid boats around so that could also be a good option when it comes to saving $ on fuel...

for me at least

Sat, 2009-03-14 06:56

such a thing does not exist - I need about 4 or 5 ultimate boats. Anything else is a comprimise and therefore not "ultimate".

1. A blinged up Skeeter i20 for Dams and river work.

2. A Venom ultimate centre console for inshore reef work

3. A Leisurecat 9000 Kingfisher for serious offshore work

4. A 60 foot liveabord "mothership" that will tow the Venom

5. A Spencer Express 43

I have a 22'2" Trailerable C/C GradyWhite, it has plenty of deck around the consul 55SQ' Made from GPR and has flotation to float level if full of water, rides real soft and is sweet in all conditions that recreational boater go out in or can get caught by.some things I would change as a diver/fisherman (were never happy)but all in all its a very good all round boat for my purpose, jersey

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2007-HYDRA-SPORTS-3300-Center-Console-%28Showroom-Condition%21%29--94113619

I'd be very happy with a 33 foot Hydra-Sports for my fishing needs. Very fishable, very sea worthy and very dry on the run. oh and it's on a trailer as well, so I could have it towed to Exxy or Broome or where ever the fish are..

and a 50 foot WA styled fiberglass cray boat with exstended cabin as the live-aboard.( nice three cabin set up and dinning area, exstened to most of the back deck. could tow my hydra-sports to the battle grounds...)

I believe the boat that the "Fishwrecked Forum" helped design (to some extent) will be out on the ocean very soon. It might not be my ultimate "dreamboat" but it will be pretty bloody close from all accounts.
Just waiting on Andrew releasing some pics for us all to drool over.Cool

Hi. Perfect fishing

Sun, 2009-03-15 07:11

Hi.

Perfect fishing boat.

Went down to SA on a charter last yr. 35ft Ex Cray (Gavin Mair). 320hp stern drive diesel.

Launch trlr, straight off beach with a high mount tractor.
No Rego's. Just a Launch Permit Required apparently.

He paid $125 for it, with near new Volvo duo prop in it..

I win Lotto I got two on order. One for Tuna in SA, and one kept up in Darwin...

PERFECT Fishing machines. Cruise at 15\20 knots. Max about 23knots. In Most seas...And don't use much more fuel $$$$ wise. than those big outboards screaming away to themselves.

Quintrex Offshore Centre Cab 670. Big enough to take me well offshore (Fads etc). But small enough to tow up North (Exmouth/Coral Bay). Price tag approx $70k - sill saving. Currently have Qintrex centre Console 570 legend. Fantastic hull that can handle all conditions.
