Is there anything better than a sat phone

Just wondering what you guys think would be the form of communication as it looks looks like I’ve picked up a job out in the great Victorian desert. Going to be out there for approximately a month so I am thinking of taking some form of communication to contact the family and use for work.

I use a sat phone every day

I use a sat phone every day for work out in the desert and it's definitely a must have. You never know when you're going to be a few  hours away from nowhere and blow three tyres - I have seen it happen. If it's for personal stuff most of the guys I work with use the camp wifi to whatsapp call home for free. Sat phones are really expensive if it's for calls home.
