Bit of a late birthday pressie, this arrived hot off the press!
Swainston's FISHES OF AUSTRALIA
We all know how to catch fish, but this is a little bit different. Hand-painted images of lots of fish (1500!), all your usual favourites and lots more. I think I'll have to put a few more on the to-do list ;)
Roger Swainton has spent a bit of time here in WA, you can read a bit more about the bloke here.
Oh and the The Bitter Truth Traveler's set, for when you just can't travel without it.

I got one of the first batch
I got one of the first batch that came out earlier this year, one of the "to be pulped" issues that had to be destroyed due to dye running off the bookmark tab on ONE page.
Apparently Roger was well pissed when he found out that they had to destroy the batch and tried to fight to keep them.
But yeah great coffee table book!

Love the flower press
A few minor gripes with it though. Didnt include common names, ie Charlie Court (not that I give a damn) and Bartail flathead. Also could have rated eating qualities with stars as in his previous books, NA for not applicable (ie blennies etc) and a big P for poisonous.
Otherwise excellent as an ID reference, but not for the boat. It would sink it.LOL.
