Stargazer?

Caught 3 in 3 drops whilst shallow water jigging Exmouth.
Photos aren't too good - not 100% sure what it was.
Any ideas?

pretty sure its a jawfish daz? i know there are afew species of them but yeh.. caught the odd one up pilbara way and we used to call em monkey fish or wilson fish after a mates staffy - heads looked similar lol... i could be wrong but

interesting, coz we got a few on jigs last wk end.
aparantly not bad eating but I couldn't bring myself to eat one.

I got one bottom bouncing in about 30mtrs of water. As soon as it was on board it stunk all the time until I filleted it. Big mouth and reasonable fight but stink to high heaven. Haven;t eaten it yet but will tell you what it's like
