What are the shore / jetty based squid options like around busselton. Me and an 11 yr old so nothing too difficult. Is the jetty any good for squid?

Busso squid
hey Randall not many shore based options here mate but the jetty usually produces well.
the best way is before dawn or dusk and after with a fresh yella about 2/3m under a float.
once you get one on pull in slowly , drop ya prawnie in and pull the fish off the squid and away you go.
you want to be about 3/4 the way out
good luck

Was only going to take jigs but i have now packed a couple of floats and some of the jigs that go thru a whole fish. I have some salted mulies that i might try.

You will get a few just
You will get a few just walking and casting but the other method is defiantly better .
if you use Mulies the trumps will usually make short work of them.

Thanks for the input guys.
Thanks for the input guys. Just spent a couple of hours on the jetty about half way out. Had a bait catcher rig out and flicked a jig out over the weed beds.
Didnt have any luck ourselves, but the young bloke next to us caught a really good size squid that he appeared to tease out from under the jetty.
Very plesant evening and lots and lots of people out either fishing or just peopling.
