squid jig

went out monday with some japenese people from harimitsu etc in search of some squid. needless to say the japenese were excited to hit the sound only to be greeted by servere cloudiness in the water. the gear brought on the boat was nothing short of phenominal and left me in awe these guys had it all . we ended up with quite a few squid of good size and i ended up learning a new techinque of squiding and also learnt that there is so much more to "egi" than i thaught . after taking them out i have had to come to reality that my yozuri jigs just dont cut it next to the harimitsu jigs getting outfished on average 5 to 1 lol.

Would a tackle shop guy be promoting some sort of fancy product if he didn't stock it?...

We all need to make a crust hey... and there's more margin in fancy jigs... especially compared to fresh bait...

For attempting to pull the piss out of you (and any other tackle guys) for unashamedly pushing a product you're selling.

Just winding you up mate.

in your opinion for drifting in Geographe Bay, Brenz? I will order and pay postage one or some depending on cost - and have them sent to work as the wife is on an economy drive.

Wed, 2008-09-24 17:39

Yeh Ive had one of those gaffs....just havent found the need for one yet. Maybe at Busso Jetty coz of the height. Nah Brendo...not tonite...got my bro's party. Maybe this weekend sometime. You get much big ones from the marina?? I prefer to squid during the day in Freo.

Flangies..the techniques are wild but that where the slower action long rods come in handy. You're not moving the jig so violently despite the rod doing so. The rods are actually not as soft as you think. You could say they're more a regular to slow action rods. But then again there's always one for everything. Hence why Ive got 2 now and more coming.

This is more addictive than breamin.

Shorty Im using PE 0.6 (10lb) braid and about 12lb flourocarbon leader. Flourocarbon is not really necessary but quality mono helps.
