Any shop that stocks Shimano
Any shop that stocks Shimano gear can order the parts in, or may already have them.
This is what you can put in you spheros:
Bearing $25 fitting inc
Shimano carbon washers x 3 $10 ea
Saragosa handle to suit ~$85

I assume you can get the FI washers from Shimano or Shimano stockists.

Shimano parts say that the
Shimano parts say that the FH and FI models already have carbon washers, a replacement set is about 30 odd dollars.

What is with handle prices.
What is with handle prices. You can get the spheros handle upgrade for $125, or a saragosa handle for $85 but to upgrade a emblem pro its only $25. And thats still a machined handle. Not that daiwa are cheaper either, a RCS handle (no knob) costs over $100 (you can by an exceller that has a machined aluminium handle for that). And damn those studio oceanmark ones (they're so comfortable though...)

Hmmm, interesting Matt
It brings me back to why is braid so expensive.

Yeah, but braid has high
Yeah, but braid has high manufacturing costs due to its manufacturing method. E.g. pretty much all braid is at least $60/300m. Some brands are more premium, but theres very little less than that (unless you get chinese crap).
With the handles, they wont cost more than $20, as can be demonstrated by the differences and that they are part of reels that dont reflect the price. If a cheap handle is $20, then an expensive handle should be around $50, but they can be upwards of $130
I.e. they just charge through the ass because they are option parts. If I can get a reel and a handle for $100 or a handle for $110, then the handle is overpriced because they can get away with charging it. Spare parts are always more expensive than they cost (when accounted for all retail and middlemencosts as well). Just odd that the emblem pro handle is so cheap in comparison (it wont have any less machining cost than a RCS handle)

Spheros
Guys why the need to upgrade the Spheros?
I've got one; purchased it two years ago and it's still in the box, sorry to all the gear freaks, but I'm still using my old Diawa 7000c which is a fantastic reel, - Beach fishing.
On the boat I switch it over to the boat rod, and also have a couple of "Sea Boys" I think they are, as you can see I'm right into the gear....
In fact if anyone has any old 7000c's and want to sell I'd be interested.
One other question is anyone using the "C-Map" card I've purchased a Northstar (Navman) M84 and a C MAP but never having used them in anger wanted to ask how good the CMap detail and info is in the real world?

I reckon the main upgrade,
I reckon the main upgrade, the bearing to replace the bush is well worth doing to preserve the gears. I guess if your not using your spheros heavily or often it's not so much of a big deal. The drag doesn't need replacing for about a good year or so normally, and the upgrade handle knob looks better and mainly feels so much better.
