It's probably not even on
It's probably not even on site. I had the same issue, said they had one in stock ready to go but that stock was over in china so I had to wait for shipping. That's if it's a trailcraft

By the sounds of things
it wasn’t even in stock to start eith, I would be guessing they told you what you what you wanted to hear, in order to get the deal over the line. I could be wrong, but that’s my take on the situation

Sadley this is all to often the case
I agree with what scanno has to say, all to often the dealer will say what he thinks you want to hear so that he has the deal in his pocket (and probably the money) when in fact the boat you ordered is not in the state or his yard.
It's been a long time since I have brought a boat but sadly it appears that not much has changed, the people prone to making promises that they have no hope of fulfilling just move from one yard to another.
N o doubt you will hear those famous words from his lips "trust me it will be here blah blah blah". In some cases something out of his control may have happened to delay his getting your boat to you when stated. I'm always suspicious of businesses that give you a completion date then extend it more than once, they get put on the never to do business with again list.
An idea would (if I may suggest it) is drop into his yard or factory and ask to be shown your boat (providing it's in this state) just so you can visualize how it is coming along.
If it's in the eastern states you want the contact number of the manager who has your boat in their yard and contact them right then and there.
No co operation get onto consumer protection you may unfortunately be dealing with someone who has a doggy history or is experiencing a cash flow problem and can't afford to get the things you want done to your boat until he comes up with the folding stuff.

Sometimes things crop up out of anyone’s control
However its about how they are communicating this with you. If there is a delay they should have contacted you to explain before the due date. If there is more delays then they should be looking at some form of extra bonus or cash off to keep you happy IMO.
When you sign a deal on something like this and want it on the due date just add something to their purchase contract like
*I need this boat for a trip to on xyz date (make it a week past their initial date) and if its not ready for then the boat will be no good for me
This will give you the ability to walk away from the deal and far more likely to get their butts into gear

The man for whom time no longer excists?
Relax Petermac , you have all the time in the world , all the time in the world. ( closing lines from the movie , The time machine with Rod Taylor)
I with the boys on this one , one small delay is something that happens , but 2 or more "' small delays'' is starting to smell like bull;;;it,
And yes this can be a business tactic, I once worked at a auto trans repair shop and stood in as phone bitch every now and then.
The bosses orders were , no matter how busy we were , get the buggers in, promise them the world , pull a bit off when car arrives
and then push it out the back for a week etc, I lasted a month there, and it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth all these years later.
Not tough and inhuman enough for that type of businessman?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,guilty.
Hang in there pete , and let us know how the whole buying experience went after shes safely in the driveway.

sounds like my last diesel
sounds like my last diesel mechanic - middle of winter pulled the manifolds off port motors and took them away - had to chase him for 2 months and in the end I went to his workshop and picked them up and got someone else to do the job - I have since found out that was his tactic - pull a few bits off - head to the next job - keeps a constant stream of work in the pipeline.....

trailcraft?
if its a trailcraft , the guy i dealt with a couple of years ago in freo was unbelievably "innaccurate" with his "promises" so i went elsewhere.

Same thing happened to me
Same thing happened to me when I got my new one off them a few years back, took 2.5 months longer than it should have!!! Worst service ever! When you get your boat and if it has a kill tank make sure it's sealed where it meets the deck as "NONE" of the new ones are! my advice is to email to keep a paper trail, no point face to face. I ended up in yelling matches over mine!

Some very sound advice in above posts
This should be a great time for you, getting a new boat and looking forward to doing the things you have been looking forward to doing. When delays in getting the boat crop up which we all acknowledge can happen a good dealer will advise you immediately of what has happened.
As I have said previously as have others if it happens more than once start the paper trail and be firm, this is your money and you want some demonstrated action by the dealer to smooth your building anxiety about the situation.
Please keep us advised of the progress being made with your pride and joy and perhaps let the dealer know that you are keeping all your boatie mates appraised of the situation as well.

sometimes its better to take
sometimes its better to take one off the lot then add the extras after. then you know what your getting .
not good when you pay out good money for something and you dont get what your after for a while.

He should be able to notice
He should be able to notice it if he does a proper inspection, they literally just use a can of spray paint for painting.Don't accept delivery until they set that trailer up properly either!
