Shithouse

I can't believe that a new member has joined and taken the time to say G'day at tell us something about himself and no one has replied or said hello. He's even taken the time to fill out his profile. I've noticed 103 reads at last count. Pretty crappy effort fellas

sheesh
Tough crowd, of those 103 reads about 20 were members. Lots of anonymous people read this site guys. But your point is valid and it would be nice to see more welcoming messages

Adam is there a way you can
Adam is there a way you can limit what guests can see? so you can let them have a sneak peek of so much to get them interested but not everything, and then that way ,you might get alot more signing up?
But then again you might not want that many members, but 1000 guests and 20 members logged in thats a massive difference, just thinking out aloud anyway
cheers.

Guests
A lot of those guests will be google and yahoo spider bots cataloging information for search engines, so its not a true representation of how many people may be online. You will also note that users only stay logged in for 60 minutes after they become inactive, 'many' other sites have this set to 12 or 24 hours to make themselves look busy...
It would be difficult to allow only certain parts of the site available but it could be done. The thing is I don't want to force people to become members to read stuff - I want them to voluntarily sign up and be a part of the site because they want to contribute.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Thanks for the comments guys. I found it interesting that after 5 mins of posting this there were 6 replies to the mentioned thread. Interesting view of human or male behaviour as when a girl joins there's about 100 replies

True
But if you look closely into those 100 reply threads, theres usually one bloke posting 40-50 percent of the replies himself.

Mate you can't comment on
Mate you can't comment on every topic and say good day to every new person that joins .Some don't get on every day so some stuff is long gone down the page.As for in the loop well all sites have there little groups that talk between each other. That will never change I put up pics and post and sometimes only get a few replys thats fine. Its a good site and some great people on it .

It seems to be a developing trend here
My very honest opinion here is that it's a developing trend. We seem to be missing some of our more avid "seniors" and seeing a lot more activity from the young brigade. Not that I am against the young brigade at all. I just worry when the oldies disappear when I know they are still alive and well (or at least I hope they are).
There are many instances where someone goes out for a day and posts a short report and a pic. The responses can be few and far between depending on who you are I guess and who you know. Personally I can't be that bothered anymore in posting a pic of a nice Tailor caught last night as all I seem to get is views and dumb questions like "where did you catch it?".
To the new member involved in this discussion I offer my sincere appolagies. I seem to have missed your post. Welcome anyway mate and I wish you a good experience here.
