Rigs for big baits
Submitted by mulloway_hunter on Mon, 2016-12-26 20:13
Hey iv recently purchursed a saltist 50 and a assasins beach mast and im wondering if anyone has a good rig to be able to cast big baits and sinkers easily without birds nesting. I find my ussual rig of a size 6 star and a half mullet spins too mutch because of the diffrent weight between the sinker and the bait in the air creating a birds nest.
Iv tried slide baiting a little bit but is a tricky technique to master. Any help would be appreciated in advance thank you

Slide, yak or balloon,
Slide, yak or balloon, casting large baits and sinkers imo is just too difficult. If you want to persist with casting you can get a clip not sure what it's called but it holds your bait and sinker together for the cast then they come apart once in the water. Helps with a fair bit of distance, might have been called ezi clipz

for casting use a large
for casting use a large strip mate skinny bit at the top hook wider bit at the bottom should go much straighter
I've also used up to 12oz sinkers to help cast I believe your rod will be capable of more weight even if you have to trim the bait a bit, large fish and sharks aren't shy of a snack
Qualified carpet layer available for jobs big and small
