Yeah mate, but we are getting near our "CLUB FULL" sighn going out, we have got more disciplines going as well, 6 pistol disciplines, 4 rifle and sporting clays, we have 3 target launchers now and do mid week shoots for pistol and shotgun at night.
Rattling off 10 shots in 3 seconds in the dark looks sooo cool.
rimfire rifle silhouette hunter and open classes
centrefire rifle silhouette hunter class and open class (any calibre over 6mm .243 or better) I run a custom TIKKA in 7/08 with 30X optics and 12 ounce trigger
rimfire pistol handgun silhouette
centrefire pistol silhouette (minimum .357 up to the big 44's, 454 cass we even got a 460 S&W )
service rifle silhouette (all the old military stuff like 303's, swedish mausers, NAZI mausers etc)
Practical hunting rifle (shooting full size & full colour african & australian game out to 700m)
Sporting clays shotgun ( day and night shoots )
Steel challenge (pistol & shotgun)

Nice gun the 7/08 Maverick
I run a PSECO [John Giles ] 700 rem blue printed sleeved action 4 shot repeater with a Shilling bench trigger set @ 4oz behind a 26 inch Hart in 6mmBR with an 8-25 Leupold scope. Shoots between 1/2 inch and moa at 300 [ when I do my part ] group of 5 shots with 32.5 gns of benchmark 2 and 65gn v-max . My hunting load but very accurate. This rifle holds the shooting complacency test record at the DEC.
Would love to have a go at the 500m fly.

I hope its a shooting competency test.
Rather than a complacency test!

Very interesting OUT WIDE.
I have just recently sold all my benchrest gear as i live in the Kimberlies and couldn't bring my gear over because of the lack of a suitable range. I had a John Giles ( pseco ) built light and heavy varmint 6mm ppc sleeved remington 700 actions maddco barrels mcmillan stocks and 36 power leopold scopes. I enjoyed that part of my life but unfortunately have moved on, mainly through the tough rules that apply over here. Good to hear some one else interested in the same discipline as myself. For the record i have only a .180" at 100 yards and from memory .424" at 200 yards. haven't shot bench rest for 25 years.

Tight group .180''
My gun started out as a 6ppc but turned it into a repeater 4 shot and re chambered for the 6br as this cal runs quicker [better hunting rifle ] out to 300m. Had a 300w mag as my hunting outfit but had enought of it after... I swear the bloody thing gave my concussion. [ Bad headache ] 40 odd rounds down the range under the roof might have been to much for the grey matter and the report would nearly knock my muffs of. Call me a wimp but I got sick of this thing booting like a mule. 180gn up to 220gn. Should of settled for nannie light stuff. A .308 in say tikka would have done me. Nah..I like my little gun these days very pleasent to shoot.
Do you take the 7/08 out clearing a few grunters from the bush up that way or is that 30x a bit to much. ?
