Please spare a thought today for all of those young men and women who fought for us all of those years ago . Spare a thought for those who gave their lives to give us a better life today .

Well said Silver Fox,
Sadly with a lot of the shite that is going on, and soft Magistrates and Weak Governments too scared to make a stand, if something doesn't change soon it will seem that it was for nothing.
Sure we have had a great life coming through, however I am worried for my Grandies the way things are changing for the worse.
To all those brave Men and Women I say thank you.
May you all RIP

100 years on, governments
100 years on, governments are still sending people to die overseas.
How far have we come? Perhaps two forward but one back?

Yep- the Local Rockingham
Yep- the Local Rockingham War Memorial. Great turnout by local residence.
At the end of the Service a Time Capsule was laid at the Memorial by the RSL to mark the 100th Remembrance. To be opened up in 2068!
I hope my Grandchildren can attend in 50 years time!

Shark Bay
Attended the Shark Bay ceremony, good turn out for a small town, pity about the 20-25 knot wind that seemed like it was direct from Antartica. Off to the bowling club for drinks after

No I didn't attend as I'm
No I didn't attend as I'm flat out tiling at home, but stopped and reflected at 11am for the minute's silence like I do every year and think of those poor souls sent over seas to almost certain death. Their courage is unfathomable.
Love the West!

Thailand
Am in Thailand on holiday at the moment. It was really good to see alot of people get out of the pool at 11 with no prompting and take a moment. Me included. Full respect.

Lest we forget
To all those brave men and women who suffered through all the conflicts overseas on behalf of all Australian citizens I say thank you.
You are remembered an honoured.
I believe there is one war going on now that we must all fight against, the name of this war that is raging across our great land and is affecting all Australians and our way of life for which so many of our brave people have laid down there lives to see that we retain it.
The name of this war is called Political Correctness and IMO it is a war that can destroy our Australian character.
My Dad taught me a saying way back when and it is as relevant now as it was then,
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names shall never hurt me.

We stopped work on the rig, everyone got their own space and time for reflection then kicked right back on again.

I was very conscious of the time and saw a jet do a low pass along the coast which was obviously heading to the service to do a flyover. I was in Bunnings at 11am and everything and everyone stopped and went silent for a minute's silence and then the Last Post was played. Very respectful in a crowded place.
I don't go the Remembrance Day service but never miss an ANZAC dawn service. The debt we owe is immeasurable.
