what rod and reel have you
what rod and reel have you got mate? what are you planning to target off the beach?
fireline is fine if you just want to try something a bit more responsive and thinner then your mono. its not a true braid because the fibers are fused not braided, but it still feels pretty similar, it's very tough and in most cases breaks well over the breaking strain on the pack. it's just a little bit thicker and a tad stiffer.
of the beach you would probably need more then 125yds though, depending on what you are going to be targeting. you can get 300yd spools but it's going to cost you about $70-80.
you could get some of the rovex braid, the viros stuff isnt too bad. 300m of 30lb will probably cost you around $70 bucks. it's a bit thinner then fireline and nicer to cast, but no wear near as tough. also, don't get the blue, you can't bloody see it.
then theres sunline super pe which is a japanese braid. it's going to cost you about $70-80 for 30lb in most cases, but it's better then rovex in every way apart from diameter. i recommend this over fireline, especially in the 30lb line class.
another alternative would be berkley whiplash. it's a bit hard to come buy these days, but it's pretty good line for the money. a 300yd spool will most likley cost you around $50-60. whiplash has an extremely thin diameter and is cheap, but the disadvantage is that it tends to break under or at the rated breaking strain on the packet. i've found 30lb to generally break at between 20 and 30lb, whereas other lines tend to break over the rating on the pack (30lb fireline for example will actually break at around 40lb or more). so with whiplash you basically just have to get it slightly heavier then you would normally use. perhaps go for 50lb instead of 30lb for your beach setup. or get 30lb and just fish it like 20lb.

Go to Kmart or BigW and have a look in the fishing section.
there is a braid called hercules braid.
it better than fireline but not the best!
300m of 20lb cost me $39.95 really worth the money.

save your $$ mate and get
save your $$ mate and get some decent braid, alot of the ebay braids are 2nds and very low quality, there has been many posts on here in regards to that.
Remember that the line is whats connecting you and the fish, you dont want to hook up a good fish and loose it due to crappy braid, just something to think about.
theres alot of cheaper braids on the market which are of very good quality that wont break the bank and will be of alot higher quality than those you are looking at on ebay

Hey Guys,
Stick to the known brands when buying off ebay, many are Chinese knock offs.
