PRODIGY TAILOR
Well the forecasters were a bit off and the predicted southwesterly didn't really come in. In fact it was hardly blowing at all where I went for a quick tailor session this arvo.
The fishing wasn't as good as I had hoped - but I did manage this solid tailor of about 50 cm on the 9 foot Prodigy rod I have been trying out.
The rod handled the job with aplomb - in fact using the lighter gear probably set this fish off as he was aerobatic pretty much all the way to the beach.
Even though the fishing wasn't as hot as I had hoped it was a good evening top be out for a fish - even with the constant drizzle.
Through there was the occassional bits of sunshine.

Thanks fellow anglers
It was a funny sort of fight Claire as it hardly spent any time in the water. The sunset was speccy, but it was about the only time it wasn't raining.

There were a few people fishing there James
But I only saw one other guy catch a tailor. It was a pretty solid fish by the look of it too.

Sorry to hear the fishing was quiet for you Dicey
The wind just didn't come in as it was forecast. Don't worry, things will start picking up soon and the big tailor will start haunting places like City Beach.

Thanks Russ and Sandy
It swallowed the hooks down pretty far, so I took them out later as I wanted to get my bait back out there while they were biting.

Great fish Colin
(again) :-)
Had a quick fish at North Beach after dark where I met user Cuthbad, then met up with user Simmo Ryan at Yanchep. No tailor around but I did land a nice tarwhine and shovel nose. Both a first for me.
The tarwhine sure went hard and I thought I was into a good tailor for a while.
Both returned.

Nice fish Colin. A bit of drizzle, what was the temp like?

Hi Soupy The conditions were pretty pleasant mate
The winds (unfortunately) were light and that kept the temperatures up and I was well covered from the rain.
With the rain falling and a low cloud cover, I thought the fish were going to go off - but that is fishing.

Yeah the bigger tailor are hanging around the reefy areas at
the moment Lucky Tim. All the spots where there is some close in reef is definately worth tossing a few lures at.
