Pot Raiders

Apparently there's a pirate operating out on the 5 Fathom down Mandurah way, when we came back in this morning my son was talking to an aquaintance who saw some one pulling one of his pots, he said that when the pirate spot him coming he took off like a Bondi tram so wasn't able to get rego number but thinks it was a small Stabbi Craft with a white hull and darker topsides. Some people just can't help themselves, just hope the perpertators get an allergy to cray flesh.

Spent 40mins watching a boat
Spent 40mins watching a boat with a couple of guys pulling pots one after the other, we had a diver on board retrieving a couple of stuck pots plus he wanted to have a look at a couple of caves i knew about.
Couldn't leave the diver for obvious reasons and it was frustrating just sitting there watching it all happen, even pro pots, the guy didnt care.
By the time the diver was up they had departed and they were just far enough away to not get a decent photo.
Out off mindarie, north.
Being such a poor season i think people are frustrated and pulling other pots to try and bag out.

I remember a few years back
I remember a few years back going to pull some pots with a mate on the 5 behind GI....seen a boat that i thought would be very close when lining up on the way there...once we got closer we found the two young blokes jigging hard...this was during the demersal ban...6m of a pinical at 7am in the morning. Very keen for a Sambo I thought.

Believe fisheries
Got a few people yesterday . Unsure could be rumours. Touching others gear. Not worth it at all.

Plain and simple
Boat confiscated for good , no ifs or buts as long as its a open and shut case , video evidence etc .
It takes a fair bit of effort and money not to mention risk from the ocean and blue rings etc to get a feed of crays , and those who
would like to partake in such a activity , should be able to assess the risks and procede without the shadow of low life scum , taking food out
of another familys mouth in the back ground .
This is the one area me and fisheries agree and I get a warm fuzzy feeling everytime some fu##ker gets a massive fine and the boat gone.
If every single person in the community respected anothers right to live peacefully , and conducted themselves with some diginty and honor
all our lifes would be better.
This I know wont happen , but thats what jails are for , and I have no quarms about filling them up and building more.

They should do same
For people in mandurah scooping ect. Take there vehicles ( undersize crabs). Don't discriminate against 1 group.

went out yesterday morning
and my pots were not on my marks spent half an hour looking finally found them no where near where i had placed them but ironically another cray fishermans cray pots were exactly on that spot so am concluding that the cray gods moved mine because he felt someone else had a right to that spot ...& no ! wind and tide dint move them cause they weigh 45kg.s - pulled the day before and it was the calmest it has been for last week .
