hey guys,
i am going to be heading down to rockingham saturday, thinking about doing a morning fish.
Havn't fished the area before but have heard that point peron would be the place to go as i want to cast a couple of lures around, hopefully for tailor.
If anyone has fished the area recently a report would be appreciated aswell as any general tips. have looked on google earth and up around the northern tip looks the best. but first hand infomation would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any information

It's actually a pretty
It's actually a pretty difficult place to fish. There are tailor there, you just have to persist and fish the dawn/dusk bite period. I've tried maybe a dozen times, casting at all sorts of white wash all over the place and I've found that you need to get right into the nasty reef and risk it for the biscuit. Mushroom rock (you'll see it instantly) holds some fish if you can get your lure pretty much smack bang on it. It's a much better squid spot and salmon spot when they are hanging around.

If fishing at the northern
If fishing at the northern end try on the flatish rock on the west side. Be aware you have to climb around rocks to get there so travel light and watch your rod tips.

Been fishing there since I
Been fishing there since I was kid, riding the pushbike out there! That Northern End flat rock is good, also if you look to your left from there-you will see another rock outcrop. Easy to get too for fishing access.
I will warn you- Very, very bad for car break ins. Do not leave anything in your vehicle.
Do a Google search- Point Peron Break Ins.
Pic of rock-you can just see someone fishing: That's also Mushroom Rock in the background.
My Dad taught me how to Fish-Thanks Dad.(RIP)
