Much better
Yes, Joe, that is what is needed and the idea of the log book is a good one. We hear of all the tax payer funded junkets our politicians enjoy and I would think that it would be a good idea for Moore to use one of them go to the US and see how they manage their fisheries without hurting anglers unnecessarily. Several of the states in which I have fished over there give anglers a card when they renew their licence and at the end of a season, they must return their completed cards which show how many fish of selected species they have caught. Generally speaking the licences are a reasonable price, but they are not so cheap for visiting anglers. In fact an angler visiting for a couple of weeks will pay almost the price of a full year in some states. Visitors also get the cards which are identified with the licence and the whole lot is entered into their data base. I went into Washington State last year and when I bought a licence my records from nine years earlier came up on the screen. It shouldn't be too difficult for the WA government to implement something like that and manage our fisheries by a system of management instead of exclusion.
I saw a TV advert for an exercise machine today and it was said that just three minutes a day of the machine would give me the body I dream of. How will three minutes a day on an exercise machine give me Miss World?

Just a suggestion, but I would remove the anonymous's and remove the swearing as well. They pretty much devalue your petition.

Hi Adam,
I have removed the swearing on the first page but I 'm reluctant to censor people's comments. I won't remove anonymous signatures as I have to respect people's wish to remain anonymous, their details are still recorded but just not shown. thanks for your suggestions and input.

Suggested a "boats in the city campaign" at 0830 hrs and 1630 hrs on a random basis to get the message across.
Police and camera operators hit the Govt in the hip pocket by highlighting the positions of those revenue collection cameras and Immediately both got their respective pay rises. Nurses and Teachers followed a consultative approach and are still way behind. Seems that with this Government.....money talks.
So to follow on from another fishwrecked users suggestion, that we take our boats to the city could only cost them $$$$$$.
NO MOORE TAXES,
NO MOORE FEES,

am not pointing the finger
am not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, but this seems like this has "died a death". Would have thought there would have been a lot more interaction about these proposals.
There is a suggestion I would like to put forward, if collecting signatures on paper is required, may I suggest at the Boat Show, next month, maybe the BIAWA ,may give up some floor space, at the foyer entrance for a table for signings. I am unable to man the table, as my work commitments, do not allow much time at the moment. Perhaps if a delegation was organised from this Web Site Forums to present the petition to the Minister and a time has to be arranged to hand over the petition, otherwise this will be a waste of time. One other suggestion, get the Media onside local TV Stations, will give better coverage.

You have missed it.
It is about the FISH, not our right to FISH.

Neels, Yes you are right
Neels,
Yes you are right about the Fish, not our right to Fish, sorry I have to agree to disagree. Introducing High cost Fishing Recreational Licence's will not help the current situation. I have no problems with closure's put in place , seasonal, or shut down, for say two years or, what ever is deemed to help save the Fish from being totally, becoming obsolete.
I did mention in another post somewhere else, that these current problems, are not new, the overfishing effort has going on as far back as forty years, or more. I can well remember overhearing in workplaces, that somebody from that workplace was going North for their annual holidays. Somebody will tow the boat, another person, will tow the trailer, that has the freezer and the generator on board and all the camping gear went in the other trailer. The overfishing in this State, should have been dealt with long before now, its like, "shutting the stable, after the horse has bolted. Its a mind set, that has to be changed, nothing else will repair this current mess.
Joe, see PM sent.

boats in the city
At the moment "Boats in the city," campaign is a suggestion and an option.
Lets wait and see how this pans-out over the next few months leading up to the Oct deadline.
Another user posted the fees from other states and that really show's what a money $$$$$$ grab this is by the WA Govt.
Let's see if the letters (emails) we have written to the minister are answered, if the petitions are heeded and if the wish of the people (no fees) is recognised before we escalate the options.

Did anyone read the Fishing
Did anyone read the Fishing Column, in the boating section of todays West. An Open Letter to Fisheries Minister Norman Moore. A very well composed letter and I am sure speaks volumes on how we all feel about these proposals.
A "boats in the city"campaign, might be a suggestion, however, one thing must be considered. We would have to go in convoy, the same as the Trucks, Convoy for Kids. The truck convoy assembles in Kewdale and then follows Orrong Road, Graham Farmer Freeway and exit at East Perth, that road name escapes me just now. Organising a convoy of trailer boats, has to be done with a lot pf planning. Permission has to be granted from the WA Police, Main Roads and probably Local Councils, as to where the assembly point would be.

to all members, who have signed all online petitions, please click on above link for a very interesting letter addressed to the Fisheries Minister.
The work has been done for us, please support chevin, or we risk losing our rights to fish and if those right's are lost, because of apathy, then thank yourselves.
