looking at buying a pfueger president for the light gear does any1 have one and are they any good.

a relative of mine has one,
a relative of mine has one, he pulled in 3 500grm skippy with no trouble. i had a shot with it, it seems good, casts well and it has good sensitivity.

3 500gram skippy shouldnt test it, any reel will pull that in, gotta put it up against a real test to find out

hi kempy i have a 7 foot 1-2kg president have had a 6kg stingray on it for 20 minutes got it to the top abd it spat the hooks...running 4kg mono.......great whiting/squid rod

I wouldnt under estimate how hard a 500gm skippy can go.....
Ive caught several close to 500gm and it can be taxing on the reel.
Question is are you looking for the President reel or rod???

I've a little president reel
I've a little president reel and for what i got it for I am happy with it's performance. A 500g skippy would be a good workout for it but I think it would handle it with a little patience.
