Onslow crocodile watch

The ABC is reprting that a 3 to 4 metre saltwater crocodile has been seen in the Ashburton River near Onslow.

The reptile was first spotted by a kayaker on Sunday.

Police have since confirmed the sighting upstream from the Three Mile Weir.

The Department of Environment and Conservation is urging the public to stay out of the river and be cautious around the water's edge.

They're coming

Having lived in Darwin and fished a lot of billabongs and rivers with them in - including a couple of unscheduled swims, i hope they don't hitch a ride on the Leeuwin current as i don't want one popping up on the Quindalup boat ramp. They are certainly breeding up and moving south and would expect they would be comfortable as far down as Kalbarri? Maybe a little cold but Carnarvon would be a possibility. Does anyone know where they extended to originally?

And hlokk - i have a cat you can burley it up with

Sure feral1975, if you want to skull drag in the skull crusher :p

If cats dont like water, then I bet all the commotion would cause a bit of interest from the wildlife....

(not that I would actually condone using a cat as a live bait of course)
