Noob question - 5 fathom bank
Submitted by crasny1 on Fri, 2016-11-25 09:54
Hi guys
Pretty familiar with this out of Perth. But not around Mandurah area. The silly question is that I thought "the Bank" stopped about the Singleton area, but had someone telling me off Bouvard they caught some large whiting from the 5FB.
Does it stretch that far and then as a newby offshore from Mandurah how far is this off the Cut for example roughly.
Cheers

Is that the area where it
Is that the area where it raises from 13 to 6-7m?
The olds just finished building down that way and I'll be hitting that area pretty hard

5FB all the way to about
5FB all the way to about Melros and then bouvards from there south. 5FB is a lot closer out from the cut than it is out from Singleton area. Probably about 6NM west of Singleton but only about 3 from the cut.

yeah we call it the 3 mile.
yeah we call it the 3 mile. plenty of snapper on there al year round and a few decent dhuies at the right tie of the year. mate has a KG spot on the flat weedy area in about 14mtrs. the start off the bouvards are about 10-12nm south from the cut. some nice sand whiting holes down there along with snapper, dhuies and black arse arund the bommies. i usually anchor and burley down there with more success than drifitng.
