G'day guys,
I am a new member to the site. I have just arrived frrom over east where i use to do all sorts of fishing. LBG, blue water, estuaries, freshwater, fly, you name it.
I am keen to get a bit of a heads up on WA fisheries. Any advice you blokes may have for me will be very greatly appreciated.
So far I have tried some lure fishing in the river around Mayland & East Perth without much success (spent a fair bit of time cleaning up rubbish left bty some filthy buggers the night before -beer bottles, cans, bait packets, etc)
I am keen to tangle with some bream in the river, some salmon or talior off the rocks/beach and would love a trip outside if someone has a spare spot on a boat.
Thanks in advanced for your help.
Gus

Hi Gus
Welcome. Where abouts over east are you from?
You will find this is a great site with a lot of really helpful people and useful information.
You might have to try tossing some lures out further downstream in the river - maybe around Nedlands way as the rain may have washed the bream down a bit.
As far as the rocks are concerned, it depends on whether you are south or north of the river, but there are a number of good spots where you can catch tailor and salmon. South of the river Woodman's Point is a gold place to start. Then there is south and north mole. North of the river, Cottesloe Groyne is one of my favourite spots, but any of the groynes and the marina walls are good placeds to try.
All the best, Colin Hay

G'day Gus
Welcome to fishwrecked Gus. As the boys have said, keep your eyes peeled as spots come up quite often but go just as fast! In the next couple of weeks the salmon should start showing up, awesome fishing from land or boat, just make sure you put in the time and you will be rewarded.
Theres also a fishing buddies forum that you can see whether people might like to tee up with you, a great way to increase your knowledge on local spots and species.
Cheers,
Adam

Welcome aboard Gus
Welcome aboard Gus, everyone in here is very helpful and I'm sure someone up in Perth will have a spare deck spot for you. You'll just have to get used to different winds being good
