NOW that's how you bling up a yacht.

A gold-plated super-yacht worth a staggering £3 billion ($4.5 billion) has claimed the title of the most expensive in the world.

The 30-metre long History Supreme yacht is adorned with 100,000 kilograms of gold that covers more than half its surface and even comes with a statue made from the bone of a T-Rex dinosaur.

The base of the yacht as well as the deck, dining areas, rails and anchor are wrapped in solid gold and the sleeping areas are covered in platinum.

There is also a wall feature in the master bedroom that is made from meteoric stone and an aquarium made from 68kg of 24 carat gold that cost $4.5 million.

Also on board is a luxury liquor bottle featuring an 18.5ct diamond, one of the world’s rarest.

Designed by UK jeweller Stuart Hughes, the “mammoth” project took over three years to complete.

The vessel even outshines Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich’s $450m yacht Eclipse, which has its own missile defence system and a submarine.

The History Supreme was completed in Malaysia two weeks ago for an anonymous businessman.

says to me is disgusting, some poor business man with toooooo much money, most probably riped people off to get this floating bank.  Hope he doesn't go anywhere near the Somalian pirates or the straights up around Indonesia, the pirates would have a field day stripping it.

Absolutely sickening when some people in the world cant even access water or food. When you have that much money you would think that you would help the needy or use it for something advantageous. Would probably only use it a few times a year too.

Boat alone probably worth 10Million, all the trimmings the rest. I squid ruin it all. Weight of boat ???100ton just in gold??? Not sure about that claim.

Bloody waste of money, and you would need to have a full time SAS unit to protect it from sticky fingers around the world.

Agree with that Neels...100 tonnes of gold on top of everything else I don't think so. One thing though, the boat would never go down in value considering the way gold is going up atm.

Cheers

If the report is true then he probably made a very good investment for himself, if he brought the gold in at the beginning of the build that is.  The price in 2009 was about $850/oz and now it is about $1,500/oz.  So considering he has about 3,584,000oz of gold in his boat then the boat has potentially made him even more incredibly wealthy than he already is.

Although I would hate to think how much of the gold was stolen during the build J
