A muddie up on a gardie rig would be a surprise, more like a hell of a surprise I should think. T least it would not have crapped over you like the gardies are known do

I saw the muddies right near
I saw the muddies right near the edge on a rock ledge and no way was I putting my hand in to grab it. Wrapped the line around the claw and pulled it up. They have a tight grip on the rocks when they want to.
As far as the hardie crap all over you. I use a hand towel to avoid that and I scale t h em at the same time. No mess and the towel just washes off . Been caught too many times in the past
