Lure Suggestions

Hi Guys,

I am about to stock up on some lures for a trip up to Shark Bay around false entrance this year.

I will be mainly targetting Spanish Mackeral and other pelagics.

Last time i was up there we were using Laser Pro, but would like to know if you have other recommendations. Will be fishing off rocks about 5-10m high.

The laser pro was good but i dont think they were heavy enough to cast far.

Price Sub 30 would be nice!!!!!

Ohhh and if possible where you get em from...locally/online

cheers!

X-raps 20s and 30s, sometimes you can get them under $30 really hang in the water right up to the base, can't go past big white leadheads for effectiveness and value

A little heavier I think

A little heavier I think with a shifting weight for better casting.

There is plenty of options

There is plenty of options with weight for casting from plastics to metal slices. Also some nice looking metal trembler type lures around. Go to a local shop with a good range, should be choices galore. Agree with daisy on L/H jigs. Don't believe you need anything to fancy for macks, if their hungry and it gets their attention they'll smash it. Halco max cast well and WA made.

I haven't used them for casting............ but the Bluewater F18 has been a good lure for me in the Northern areas. I think there is even a 120mm version now available which might be of interest.

These lures swim nice and true and seem to be set up with decent hooks and other hardware

Cheers Steve

Maria Bullchop!! Best lure going around in my book.

Oceanside had some a few weeks back, but thanks to my contribution they may not have any left. Prior to finding them there, had not seem them around anywhere.

My choice for weight and casting would be the Raiders .

As for bumper bars I love them in perth for the smaller species but unfortunatly you can only get them from BCF ....

Don't forget the common old

Don't forget the common old white lead head - cheap and does the job and you'll out cast all of the above two fold - just have to crank hard and fast!

Cheers Pete

Raiders

The big Raiders do the trick, had a big gold one that was about7 inches long and made of ali I think, still heavy enough to cast a mile ad big enough to make them attack it.Got mackies, tuna .trevs and big tailor on it untill it went fishing on its own as a result of a rifle shot[line wrapped around tip when casting]best cast I'd ever done LOL

They are more the go, keeps

They are more the go, keeps them in the water right up to the rocks, X- rap 30 goes 72 grams as well, with the metals I usually crank 'em up them drop them and crank 'em up again during the retrieve, otherwise you're just cranking them across the top of the water.
Good luck.
