Lost values
Nothing has been learned by the Australians post the ball tampering fiasco. win at any cost remains supreme thought.
On the news last night there it is for all to see, what a great display of sportsmanship,...Not
An extra ball (which IMO) should have been called a no-ball or what ever is bowled and the batsman is caught out on it. With any self value there is no way the wicket should have been claimed or taken.
Australian cricketers have sold there honesty and respect for the all mighty dollar, and this is what our young up and coming sports people are watching/ So please don't use the words Australian cricketer and sportsman in the same sentence because it's a bloody contradiction.
Totally discussted with it and won't be watching any cricket of any persuasion with Australians involved.

That’s going a bit far i recon - honest mistake by the umpires - the fielding team didn’t know nor did the batting team. If it had have gone for 6, then would the scorchers have given the runs back?
this same type of thing happens everyday in every sport - do the eagles give back the premiership cup for the missed decisions in last years GF? Etc etc.
ball tampering is a bit different to this type of thing. The folk involved in that have paid their dues - time to move on.

To be fair
None of the players would have known that was a 7th ball until it was way too late.
Not condoning it at all, but it's more a question of umpire incompetence than player integrity

What a crock
There was no cheating or underhand tactics, an umpiring mistake was made that wasnt picked up until too late, didnt have any impact on the outcome.

theres no way
the fielding team would have knowingly let a 7th ball bowled
wouldnt want it going for a 6 or a no ball
in fact, okeefe wasnt sure he took the catch, cant see how any of this suggests poor sportsmanship

Why would the fielding team
Why would the fielding team want to knowingly be bowling 7 ball overs? It was a genuine mistake by the umpire not picked up by the players and the laws state that once the ball leaves the hand it’s live regardless of whether 6 legal deliveries have been bowled. Luckily it didn’t affect the outcome of the game but may be Klinger’s last outing for the Scorchers once the Marsh bros return. Pretty sure the ICC will now change the rule as a 7th ball shouldn’t happen.

The 2 field umpires, the match referee, the fourth umpire and the TV umpire all missed it. I find that diabolical to say the least.

Whilst I reckon youd spot on
Whilst I reckon your spot on with 99.9 percent of your comments I totally disagree with this post.
I think fair enough shit happens people make mistakes ,once the ball has been bowled you cant take it back ,weather it be hit for 6, a wicket taken or further balls to be bowled due to no ball ,wide etc.
I also reckon that once the error has been realised that the captains/ umpites are told and the last over see's only 5 fair deliveries bowled.

Don't agree
It was an illegal delivery. Plus the scorchers allowed them to subsitute an injured player during warm up. So you would think the sixers would say no we don't accept that wicket.

At the start of this game
At the start of this game one of the players in the opposition was injured . The Scorchers allowed a replacement which they didnt have to do , great bit of sportsmanship i thought . How bout highlighting the good for a change and not tarring all with the same brush.

Its sad these tennis brats
Its sad these tennis brats are sucking all the oxygen away from what a couple of the Aussie women are achieving at the moment. As for the cricket they have lost me Uncle, not wasting my time with it until it changes. Not holding my breath though, the dollar is more important to CA now.
