license renewal debacle

A bit has already been posted about this already and it has been said by some that due to cost cutting no renewals are going to be sent in future.
My license expired on the 3rd and as I was lucky enough to read a post after renewals weren't sent to others I renewed my license on the 5th. Well today I recieved my renewal notice late and in the same mail delivery in a seperate envelope was my new license and rules booklets.

Zipform used to do it for Fisheries and also dispatched the magazine (no longer produced ) - fully automated but believe now handled by a mob in Ozzy Park.

Expired License
Yep I read the posts on the 5th and foound out by ringing fisheries that mine and me young blokes expired on the 1st
I was out on the second and I spose lucky for me came home empty (damn North Easterly)
Would have been an interesting conversation if I had say a pinky or two on board and was checked on
I know I would have lost big time but they would have got a serious debate on it
Now its on the calendar and in every damn electronic piece of equipment I've got

Got mine today but did notice that it didn't have an expiry date on it or anything saying when it has to be paid. At least the card has that I suppose.

Queensland health workers?
Does anyone remember a few years back , qld health workers went to a new , improved fully auto system for
there pays , all up it took over 2 , yes 2 years to fully balance the books! ( even then it still was running like a sick cat)
This stinks of that sort of thing, i got a renewal today in post < 13/3/14 , saying hello , your lic will expire on the 6/03/14 ,
only thing is mine expires on the 22/12/14 , um , um ok , thanks for that .
If so much wasnt at stake , It would be worth a laugh, but try telling someone pinged
for no licence that.

Well after reading the previous threads I checked mine and renewed it as it was due on the 14th. Guess what turned up today.. The renewal notice the day before....

heres a question for you ?
lets say my license expires on the 1/3/14 (which it actually did)
can i fish on the 1st of march or not ??
i went out fishing on that day and wasnt sure so i rang fisheries to check ... well the lady I spoke with said she "thinks i can" up until midnight....
but she wasnt sure !??!!?!!
I renewed it on the iphone anyway, because I knew how it would end up if i got into an argument with a fisheries officer on the day.

Fisheries department is a disappointment.
I'm sure they would have been asked " if my licence runout today can I fish today? "
In this computerised world they should have a FAQ section for the public and for their workers.
Too often the Fisheries are shown up as a cash grabbing government body.

And yet I recieved my renewal notice yesterday the 13th march, mine expires on the 27th march. It my be that they have now sorted it out. One thing is certain, I will print out my renewal notice, laminate it and have it on board just in case I don't receive it in time.

Got my renewal in the mail
Got my renewal in the mail yesterday, it expired last Saturday, was out fishing yesterday. Glad there were no fisheries officers at the ramp as the guy I was out with got his original rfbl the same day as me when first required. Paid it online today.
