prawns
I buy 2-4 packets a week of the Kallis prawns and love them They come peeled and deveined with seafood sauce in the pack and just the tail on which just squeezes off.1 pack makes 2 prawn rolls. There are Carnarvon prawns for sale for around $28/Kilo but you have to peel them. Its personal choice. If you dont want them dont buy them,Often at Karrinup they have run out off the thawed out stock so they must be popular.Just trying to be objective
just do it.

White Spot
That is what how the white spot disease came into OZ, uncooked prawns and one only has to read on how it has devastated the prawn industry over east and probably will here in due course.

it depends on which kailis
it depends on which kailis bros it is . the one in perth is now owned by a japanese company (from memory )
if it was the kailis bros in exxy its locally owned as far as im aware . same name but different companies. found this out a few years back when i worked for the perth mob. they sold out only a couple of years back going from what ive been told . the perth one did import most of their prawns as most people would not pay the premium price for local ones.

I have banned my wife from buying any imported seafood and educated her why. That is the key here, most people are oblivious to the problem.

Couldn't agree more mate wouldn't it be better for west oz commercial boys to go target shark for food instead of us buying overseas crap
More jobs for the west, better quality fish for the buyer and a bit of help with the shark problem north no brainer I recon
As far as the prawns I really think it's to late

Woolworths king prawns
I brought 1 kg of WA unshelled king prawns from Woolies at $19.95 on Saturday fresh as and all good, to be open minded it is a personal choice which prawns you buy and I don't think badly of anyone who buys O/S prawns.
I do wish they would buy WA prawns so that more employment could possibly be created and I do think they taste better and there is no risk of white spot, but that is my choice and yes you do pay a higher price however that's because our living stranded is higher.
