That's dissapointing, I thought the local council had allocated funding for them, wasn't the original intention when they were 1st anounced to have them deployed prior to the demersal ban to attract rec fishers as an option to fish over the rest of the west coast bio region whilst ban was in place. Where's sooky Grills & his royalties for regions???
The local Shire of Dandaragan supported the program, but not necessariy with money.
The Jurien Bay Chamber of Commerce probably chipped in a little last season, but nothing so far this season.
Jurien Seasport aka Whitey chipped in a lot of time and diesel.
I believe that no Royalties for the Regions money was secured this year. I submitted another grant application, but no word on the outcome there yet.
Through FW we collected some bits and bobs for the program, and I drove a load of gear up with Schaffer Loader's truck. I have to pick some rope up from Browny sometime, and with Grantarctic's help we're working on some ghetto floats as well.
Interesting that there has been no word on Royalties funding. I have been involved in a couple of their grants and they have been very prompt and upfront with their communication. Never had one knocked back and have even allowed flexibility with the actual spending of the cash.
Best thing for the country areas.
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.
