Ice fishing in northern Lapland

Lake Inari, first auger the hole, drop spoon with artificial maggots on hook hanging a few centimetres below and jig.......no we didn't actually land anything, I lost a hook to a northern pike and Jen lost a small Redfin....but hell it was fun snowmobiling to the location over miles of frozen lake.

Good fun
I did it in Canada a couple of years ago. Makes the old sphincter pucker when you hear the ice shift and crack a bit!

Sun presently only rises for 7 minutes
So hopefully my smiling face adds a little brightness on the day, was a brilliant "sunrise" with every tone of red and orange but the actual sun never broke the horizon as being lakeside we were down in a dip. King crab fishing next on the agenda where we are to play some bloke who can walk out onto the ocean.....photos will hopefully follow if we don't drown
