Yeah I know alot of people here too that would have kept it to eat, althgouth I had no idea what to do with it. And wasn't sure how much of a mission it would be just to bring the bloody thing onboard and try kill it haha.
Haha yeah The first time I ever tried out jigging I caught an occy. Never caught one since. I thought I must have landed right on top and just jagged it

we bycatch giant cuttlefish on jigs and softplastics off perth here occasionally but not an occy yet, only in the cray pots.

The occy pounced on the jig when it hit the bottom, I thought I had snagged the reef but pulled hard and up it came
