Southern/Fighters

Southern crays are nicknamed fighters because they will have a go at you or whatever else is near or in the pot with them.

Reds/ whites are the same and also called biscuities when they are getting close to moulting because the shell is really pinkish and shabby in appearance.

Not sure on the difference between painted and northern crays but no doubt someone from that neck of the woods can fill us in

Western Rock lobster

Technically speacking they are the Western Rock Lobster between Abrolhos and around the south coast ...... the southern Rock Lobster ( fighter) from Busselton south.

Then theres the funny little critter that Poddy's mentioned

From the Abrolhos north you can also include the Green Cray and the Painted Cray.

We had

a spot/reef in Mandurah where we would get 1-2 Southerns per week in our pots. Had no idea why they were in that particular area but we never got them anywhere else.
