Hitting the Beach Friday 12 Aug - Weather looks good for a beach sesh!
Submitted by Blue Whaler on Thu, 2011-08-11 08:05
Weather looks pretty ok for a good beach sesh trow late arvo into the evening. High tide is at 11pm so your fishing the rising tide, trick is to get to a beach where your not being weeded out. Wind not fav at NNW - but at 6 knots whose complaining. Good luck for trow.
I will be heading out at 5pm untill 2am targetting some tailor and mulla - and if VERY lucky the very elusive snapper.

Where you headed mate?
I had an early morning session north of Yanchep yesterday. Not a sign of any Tailor despite what I considered perfect conditions. Reports from further south were the same. It seems the water is not quite right. I'm not sure what that means other than there are no fish LOL.

I was thinking North of Yanchep!! - however, after ur report - will go check the waters this afternoon. If not closer to home - I did test out the waters past sunday later arvo / night - and all my takes were far casts out - maybe another week for the water conditions to be ok?

Not sure mate
I've lost the plot. Some days they are on and then nothing. The weather is good today so best I can suggest is for you to try your luck. The sea conditions are perfect at the moment. It could be well worth the effort.

Burns Beach
Went for a popper session early morning last Sunday north along Burns Beach. Couple of hook up but did not stay on. But spotted a couple of tailor jumping (not seen this before). Estimate around them 2kg mark. Very frustrating.

Lucky you iceman, at least there were life!! - I went to the southern section of Burns Beach past teusday morn - not a hint of tailor - were using poppers, richters and metal halcos - sad day! Now going to my use my ever reliable 'dead' sardine baits .. maybe this will entice them!!

Swanny/Floreat drains
Hey Blou,
Walked this stretch of beach last weekend and a lot of holes and gutters formed and not far from the beach. Might be worth a shot...
Let us know how you get on anyway mate.

Iceman, I think I saw you
Iceman, I think I saw you down at Burns. I was the guy with the light soft plastic outfit. Assume you were the guy with a well used Stradic using the popper?
I didn't get a single nibble - tried every placcy in the box. When a nuclear chicken and sandworm isn't getting chomped, you know you're in for a bad session...

Sorry I didn't respond to your text
I was driving and then forgot to check later.
I did have an arvo session at Yanchep until sunset. 3 Tailor up to 48cms and 2 Flathead. The Tailor ran for 15 mins only just on sunset and that was it. I didn't see anyone else land anything. I'm going to wait until this latest weather passes through then go further north.
Cheers,
Vince.

i went down to kwinana
i went down to kwinana yesterday to get some bait and head out in the tinny, got no fresh bait so went out around some jettys with some boney herring and they where coming back always half chomped, bloke down there in a spindrift was getting some big stuff coming up on his fishfinder. got a few nice size flounder than jumped off the hook at the surface on the bream gear. water was suprisingly warm but everything seemed a bit shy. got out of there before the rain hit but the swell upped the anti about a meter or so in the half hour before it chucked down.
