Hey all im probably going to head out beach fishing in the rockingham area in within the next week and just wondering if there has been much tailor or herring around and the best locations? Also what should i bait up with for tailor. i was going to get some halco twisties and metal raiders but thought i might take some bait down too just incase any thoughts? Im fine with herring as i grew up catching them with my old boy

yep
last weekend and friday arvo just gone i went down to madora bay just off the beach there and caught 4 herring and 2 tailor in about 1 and a bit hours, u have to get there at bout 630pm and they dont usualy start biting till about 7-8 ish but i dont usualy stay for much longer than that, its only 15-20 mins south of rocko so its easy to get to
just turn off at the big limestone wal with madora bay written on it and go to the second round about turn right and park on the side of the road parking spot just there and just oposite the walkway to the beach is were i went and caught a fair amount of fish and a fair size aswel :)

long point has
been pretty good! but dont use thwe big beach rods everyone uses! i use a five foot uglystick and a paternoster rig with a small gang and either blue bait or white bait!! you will ctahc twice as many fish as the guys using mulies!

A five foot uglystik??????
Might as well use a handline..... Try connecting the other half that came with the rod or get a new measuring device ;)
