Damn it, they should have done this before I left. I guess then I would have had to relocate twice as much stuff!!

The Waeco/Engel fridge freezer stuff looks good. Quite a few ugly sticks and garmin gps/plotters.....Knew I should have kept my Ruddi Money! There is a huge range of good stuff on the list.

You heading down Rosco? If your looking for a fridge go the Engel mate, bit of rain won't hurt them unlike Kev's Waeco.;)

Nah mate...Would be a nice Fathers Day present but I'm putting the brakes on after the sounder and gps purchases. Better I stay home and mow the lawns on Saturday because I reckon there will be some bargains at the auction that I wont be able to resist. Anyway I've got my eye on a couple of 850 spools for the young bloke.

Had a look at the auction

Fri, 2009-09-04 12:46

Had a look at the auction today. Nothing really took my fancy. They have quite a bit of camping gear, stoves, ice boxes, swags etc. The fishing gear is ok, lots of it is just cheapo (rovex/jw/okuma etc) stuff though, only saw one or two decent reels.

There were over a 100 people there when I went, I don't think they need reserves.

I expect some tackle and camping shop owners will be there

Fri, 2009-09-04 14:48

I went to an auction a few years back that was selling off stuff from a car parts shop that went broke. Car part shop guys bought most of the stuff. I did bid for a large box, which was identified as having car seat covers in it. I got the box for a pittance, but the covers were all shocking colours and none of them would have fit my car anyway.

some stuff was a good buy...some was expensive

Sun, 2009-09-06 16:11

happy with what I picked up....agree the fishing stuff was mostly cheap stuff for kids...
some people go stupid at auctions.....engels and wacoes pulled big bucks....couple of the swags were dearer than you can buy retail....gas cookers sold for only $30 cheaper than retail at $120
eskies were not cheap!!!!

No reserves....someone got a bargain with some sat phones...$400 for two!!

I got a cheap leathermen for $35...Three Led Lenser head torches $40 the lot....13amp battery charge $45 ....not bad after stepping off a plane at 7.40am

I thought there was heap more than 100 people there....

Torches

Sun, 2009-09-06 19:00

Yeah those torches and some low end line / braid were about the only real bargins. I also couldn't believe the people paying more than shop price! Those sat phones were ok but pretty old and second hand it looked - wonder what the retail was on them? Some of the tents went pretty cheap too.
