Have a look here http://fishwrecked.com/node/19021

The Tackle Shack had the Sol rods out for $140. Great rods for the price. Might want to check as Im not sure if they are still on sale.

1 or 2 pieces make a difference?

Sun, 2009-02-08 15:35

If you can get a 1 piece, the Starlo Stix Pro is a nice stick - and its not that bright ass blue colour either, its a nice matt grey.

$170/$180 from memory, and I think it was a shade over 7' long, skeletonised cork grips, SiC guides (alconite guides on the Rack Raiders). But it is one piece, so transporting a rod that long can be a right pita.

EDIT

Sun, 2009-02-08 15:36

Those SOL rods are very nice also - if they have one thats suits for $140, jump on that if it feels the goods with your reel on it. Balance is the key grasshopper.

Try one of the Daiwa redback

Try one of the Daiwa redback rods decently priced and not a bad blank either certainly within your price range

Will they last for a bit in

Mon, 2009-02-09 06:58

Will they last for a bit in terms of quality? I'm not an extremely hardcore fisherman, ,but I'm looking for a new rod too and I don't mind chipping in more if there's anything else that's worthwhile. Currently have a dodgy reel only so not sure if it'll fit nicely into the SOL rods. lol (What's the difference between the 4of the spinning rods?)

Also do they come in 2 pieces? Just checked some some site it says 1 piece, gets me a little confused. If there's anything else more in stock, I might hop down to the shop and get meself one.

the td sols we have only

Mon, 2009-02-09 07:32

the td sols we have only come in one piece mate, and they are of high quality, they normally retail for just under $300

we also only have only 3 of the 6-10lb ones and 2 of the 8-14lb left

Dropshot

Tue, 2009-02-10 08:47

Cant go past the drop shot. under $200. Variety of sizes.
I have the two smaller sizes one with a stradic 2500. Awesome rods. Starlo stixs arent that good imo.

Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more serious than that!!!
