Furuno 588 transducers

Hey guys, looking at transom mount transducers for a 588 and wondering if there are any benefits to having a 1kw if only fishing in shallow water up to 100m or so?
Is there any difference in the picture quality / sharpness or a difference when travelling at speed? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

If you have the money go for
If you have the money go for it however i run a 600w and find ground and fish no problem, I think it’s unecessary unless you want to go deep dropping.

I've got one on mine mate, probably overkill but always wanted that option if I get out deep.

I'm with Andy
I've got out deep dropping a handful of times with mine and seen fish. I'm going to start trying out the low frequency in closer after looking at a post on here about using it to find new ground. I run a TM260 and it is great at speed but is a narrow beam at high (but I like to know what is directly under the boat as well)
