Fishwrecked Censoring....
Submitted by Piscator on Sat, 2011-10-29 11:15
I got an email the other day from a friend of mine saying that he had posted a link to my website on fishwrecked. I am not one for shameless self promotion so I felt a little uneasy about it but was pretty thankful to Karl (Crushed) for putting the word out. Soon after the post was removed????
We are all here on this forum because we love fishing so I was pretty surprised at this action? Is there a simple explanation for this censorship or am I not allowed to share my love of fishing within this forum?
Bemused......

Could always post pics on this website couldn't you or would that be shameless self promotion?

I'm sure you won't be stopped
I'm sure you won't be stopped for posting pics on this website, or sharing your love of fishing on this website.
Just a guess though, but cross-marketing your own probably won't pass muster.

Hi Chris
Hi Chris,
I don't allow the promotion of other fishing related websites that pose as competition on this site, ie blogs etc (specifically WA orientated). I'm sorry if that upsets you, but it is something I learned early in 2005 when I tried to do the same thing on Wangler:
It was defined to me by Stagles as 'web client poaching' and as such I have been stringent on ensuring that it does not happen on fishwrecked.
I had intended to PM Karl but have been flat strap finishing a work contract and was notified by a moderator that they had unpublished it for me to take further action.
This thread has been closed, if you wish to discuss it further with me, feel free to send me a PM.
Cheers,
Adam
