Fishwrecked 4WD and Fishing Adventure
Submitted by Colin Hay on Wed, 2010-11-17 18:32
Sherbs is hoping to get a few Fishwrecked members together for an overnighter fishing and 4wd outing at a location to be selected north of Perth.
Initially he would like to get expressions of interest and then we can move forward with selecting a date.
So if you are keen for a fun, low cost fishing trip, put your name down.

hahah
Apparently I snore too! But I cant say I have ever heard it myself. I have a large collection of burley materials, are we ok to stake out a hessian bag? All my stuff is old bait saved up over the winter with not enough fishing to use it up, and need to clean out the freezer a bit before christmas/summer.

I dont know if I can come along at the moment.
James has bailed for a work christmas breakfast, and my 4wd decided it couldnt be bothered retaining any clutch fluid this morning. The clutch booster and master cylinder are in being tested atm, and hopefully I can get it all sorted for saturday afternoon. 3rd clutch issue within 6 months, and within 12 month warranty of a full engine rebuild, only had 10k service two weeks ago.
Not happy Jan, but full of hope.

BJ 74 Landcruiser
Ive replaced the slave cylinder, rebuilt the master after being told that they were the only culprits as if it was the booster there would be a vacuum lock up. Anyway, sounds like the booster could have been at fault all along, but after I get it back in, and put the front half of the car back together it should be all good until the next thing shits itself. We literally had to disconnect the steering column, remove the air duct, clutch and brake pedals, and the clutch master cylinder to get the booster out. Talk about shoe horning.

Hopefully not after this
Some people at tafe want to buy it, but after buying it in 2003 for $13500 a 1987 with 113000 kms on the clock and having the engine seize and a small fire on the way back from tasmania at 170000kms a year and a half ago, with a rebuild cost of $6k in feb this year its not even worth selling.
Ill put up with these kind of issues until I can afford a near new vehicle until then its a bunky fishing vehicle, but they are kickass 4wd. Bulk power to weight ratio because of the medium wheelbase and fibreglass roof.
I wish I had the money to rebuild the suspension, bare metal blast and respray and put in the 4.2 ltr 15bt as opposed to the 13 bt 3.4 upping it from 135hp to 175-180, but would need to do gearbox, and would want to put an intercooler and diff lockers etc... $$$ .... $$$$

the Lancruiser lives!
The show is back on the road. Sorry to hear Kane, I could have been stuck in Perth too, but after a pretty straight forward re-assembly and a test drive, shes all good.
