Dob in a cray pot Yanker

So early in the season and already people think they have the right to pull other peoples cray pots.

Suggest we all keep an eye out and dob in anyone seen pulling other peoples pots, look after your mates. Suggest using your phones to catch them in the act.

Maybe we should set up some site to name and shame any person prosecuted of this mongrel act.

Id like to name and shame the arrogant f..k who decided to leave his white landcruiser trayback and trailer parked in the #1 turning bay at ocean reef this morning at about 5am while he went to check his pots.

He effectively made that ramp useless for anyone else to use.

Next time youll have your number plate and photo plastered over social media.

Randall,

Next time the clown does that, let all his tyres down.

It worked for me when some half wit left his car and trailer parked at the top of the ramp at Point Peron some years back.

I never saw it left there again !

only one way to help arrogance is through life lessons. Kill a launch bay like a tosser = flat tyre. Park where I should = no trouble.

no one angry, yelling, or the like. Just old fashioned learning.

I see your point but in reality that just disadvantages other ramp users for longer while he sorts it out.

leave a message on their windscreen written in soap, done that before and gets the message across. Doesn't do to much damage and gives them time to think about what they did while they clean it off.

Ocean Reef 3 mile- Morning pot pulling partner

Thu, 2015-11-05 12:24

Out of chance does anyone who has a boat need a partner to pull pots of a morning before work (around 5-530am?). I'm selling my boat so not putting it through cray season, but I do have 2 rigged pots, a license, happy to pay for bait/fuel etc. The run is a few weeks away so i'd be keen to get pots soaking this weekend or next.

Had someone come up to me

Thu, 2015-11-05 15:50

Had someone come up to me this morning out there. we had just pulled our 4 pots......drove around to find a spot for the last one a bit shallower than the rest. Dropped it then stopped and rigged the outriggers (was planning to head out deeper to troll for a while)

the guy in other boat was pretty pissed off. didn't accuse me but it seemed like he was thinking we were tampering with his gear.

Said something about having his bait lids stolen?

looks like there are some thieves around.

Occys

Thu, 2015-11-05 15:55

98% of time bait lids are missing is because occys pull them off.  I've seen it happen with a mates pots, and he was blaming everyone under the sun, until I told him they were too loose and to put a zip tie on it.  Hey presto, problem solved....never lost another one.

Really, does anyone seriously think someone pulling your pots would steal the bait lids.

Yeah couldn't hear everything he said and Decky and I did discuss occys ripping lids off ....

it did seem he was unhappy with me but will give him the benefit of doubt so will chalk it up to him just warning me to be on the look out :)
