Custom Rod Builder Recommendations anyone ?

Hi All

Just seeing if anyone has had a custom built rod made recently or can recommend me to someone.

Have a Purglas blank (400/8 2 piece) that needs building in to heavy surf rod (and to a high standard).

Prefer North of River but not fussed that much as I am looking for quality build.

Cheers

 Does anyone know who does

Does anyone know who does rod repairs? I snapped the last two guides off my Azuza when I nailed my Dhuie the other week and I'm still shedding tears. Is it repairable?

On Tuesday I reversed into the garage at a holiday house with the rods in the holders I was staying at and snapped a T curve as well as pulling a guide from my Catalina and bending another two guides on it. I actually did shed a tear.

Andy any chance we can hear

Wed, 2017-01-04 21:01

Andy any chance we can hear a few more details about the rod breaking?

Feel free to add the swear words that followed

Dale, Interesting you mentioned the old Sabre GF blank....

I have the GF 670 I think it is, had that built way way back in the day and she's hardly been used.  Was one of the best 24kg stand up LB blanks going back in the day & I also have the GF 585 i think it is...

The 585 has been a ball tearer and its still my bottom bashing rod that i use today coupled with an Abu Morom ( the abu version of the calcutta 700 ), I've had em both for about 18 years now.

I think there are too many quality rods on the market now i wouldnt go custom anymore unless I was coined up i guess....

Lol the end of it got caught in the landed net as we dragged the fish aboard, and I think I actually made a sentence up entirely of expletives

Nice to hear you like the old Sabres Boon, shame most people haven't used them, they are a great rod.
