Boat Collision

Just saw this on Youtube and it is a reminder to always keep a watch while you are driving your boat and to always wear a life jacket as it can all change in a blink of an eye.

I agree
But from what I have heard he was in a wheel chair while driving that's why he couldn't see over the bow. No excuse either way.

I saw this too Frank
The skipper is obviously incompetent, and should not be behind the wheel of a boat. This muppet should be charged with 3 counts of attempted murder.

What
What if they were all facing the other way and didnt see him coming. "I couldnt see" is a pathetic excuse and he should not have been driving it . Lucky escape for those poor people .

Exact same
Saw the exact same thing on Saturday between Garden and Carnac Islands, missed by under 6 feet.
Woman on the smaller boat shrieking could be heard from miles away, the big cruiser kept going and never even saw them.

This is my one fear while
This is my one fear while out in the yak, not sharks. We're hard enough to see to guys paying attention let alone someone who isnt. Not something anyone should ever experience while on the water.

Same thing happened off
Same thing happened off fremantle years ago involving a pilot boat (yes, a pilot boat) and an old cray boat being used as a recreational fishing boat. It was night time, the pilot boat was returning to the harbour and the rec boat was drift fishing just north west of north mole. Rec boat had there nav and running lights on. Pilot boat went straight through them at 26 knots. The two guys on the fishing boat jumped overboard seconds before impact.
Result- trsnsport charged both (yes, both) skippers with failing to keep a proper lookout.
The rec boat skipper said he was. Thats why he and his mate jumped.
Fish! HARD!
