At 50 knots its not a good day to be walking around in the street let alone being offshore, Dampier harbour has been a millpond all morning (and I'm working):-(

TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST
SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
for Widespread Damaging Winds with Locally Destructive Gusts
For people in areas southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Hyden to Esperance,
including the Perth Metropolitan area, Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton and Albany.
Issued at 11:50 am on Friday 14 August 2009
A strong cold front and vigorous westerly airstream are expected to cause
widespread damaging winds to 100 kilometres per hour that could result in damage
to property. In isolated areas locally destructive gusts in excess of 125
kilometres per hour may cause significant damage or destruction of property.
Severe winds over the Southwest District and adjacent Lower West are expected to
extend to the Perth Metropolitan area mid to late afternoon and to Esperance
during the evening.
Thunderstorms are possible over the Southwest and South Coastal Districts,
extending to the Southeast Coastal District during the evening. Heavy surf
conditions are forecast and some beach erosion is possible.
A wind gust of 117 kilometres per hour was recorded at Cape Leeuwin at 11:00am
and 111 kilometres per hour at Cape Naturaliste at 11:34am. In addition, several
wind gusts between 90 and 100 kilometres per hour have been recorded in the
Lower West and Southwest Districts this morning.

shelter away from trees, powerlines, storm water drains and streams. Boat
owners should make sure their boats are securely moored. Take extra care on the
roads as flooding is possible. If driving through heavy rain slow down and turn
your lights on or if visibility becomes low pull over and park until it passes.

Wind peaked at around 108kph
Wind peaked at around 108kph at the Busselton Jetty around 11am, gave my alfresco area a good blow out. Watched 4 pelicans flying over on Thursday evening and it took them ages to fly past into the westerlies that were blowing, it was like 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
Cheers
