Hi Guys
Heading down to Kudardup this weekend (about 10km out of Augusta)
Wondering if anyone knows of any good landbased fishing spots either beach or river down there.
Also any tips on rigs for river fishing....
Cheers

Hamelin Bay
always holds a few fish. Should be herring, whiting and other Bread and Butter fish around.

Redgate
It's about 20min away from Augusta but about 10min away from Hamelin Bay. I caught 1 PJ shark, 1 wobby, 1 leopard shark, a few wrasse, herrings, whitings and lost one big ray, all on a 2.0meter UglyStik. Just beware of the rocks and tides, could be dangerous. Also, a fair bit of walk to the rocks. Hamelin Bay is much more fishing friendly place to go i reckon.
I have not fish in river before. Just started saltwater fishing not long ago.
The rig i used when i was in redgate was similar to paternoster fishing rig, using three way swivel. Hope this helps.
By the way, i didnt know Redgate could produce good fish till someone in the forum share their experience with me. So credit to them.
Cheers! Good luck!

And...
Most of the spots are pretty well known and may be on the brochures handed out at the tourist information centre. Speak to the ppl there, they give good and up-to-date advise and info!!

4X4?
Are you taking a 4x4?
If so try the Boranup end of Hamelin bay, some good channels for the can hold good skippy, tailor and the odd salmon at this time of the year.
South of Hamelin you can try Deep Dene and Cosy corner for herring and skippy, and on the way to the Cape Leuwinlighthouse the landing at Dead Finish can provide herring and whiting.
East of Augusta you can get in to White point for herring , silver bream, tailor, gummies and mulloway.
