Its a marketing stunt.
Kind of like when your mate has an Ebay store so he asks a couple of mates to bid his first item through the roof then gives him the money back later.
Then it looks like they sell for more.
Check back and see if you can EVER find one of these massive prices for a fish from anywhere but another Japanese seller.
They would ping us after a sale for a "bruise on fish", after its sold and you have been charged the 17% premium (non refundable) but we see video of them at Tsukiji moving tuna with a bobcat on the sale floor...
