Where do you get your hooks and sinkers from?

I want to find some cheaper options for stocking up. But don't want to make them myself.   I've thought about buying online but imagine postage on sinkers would jack the price massively.

In regards to hooks, what do you use?   I've got mustads, and owners.  Today bought some gamakatsu to try out.

Cheers.

For sinkers I have just started using old chain. buy yourself a bolt cutter and some old chain from a salvage yard.

Cheaper and not as bad as lead for the enviroment.

What size / type of sinkers are you after.

I make sinkers and lead bullets.

I make a fair few and have an electric melting pot etc we may be able to come to some sort of arrangement.

I'd be interested in this Maverick if you make 3-6oz star sinkers.

As for hooks, I use motackle mainly and the local sometimes.

I get all my gear from Oceanside. They've got a huge selection of gear and service second to none!.... Problem is I go in for sinkers and hooks but walk out with "another" rod and reel haha.

If you go to anywhere in Asia or a mate does get into.a fishing store and load up. This aint really an option for sinkers though. The enviro sinkers are heaps cheaper.

You get what you pay for

If hooks and sinkers are bothering you then the cost of fuel for the wagon and/or boat must really test the budget.

make our own sinkers. Just

Tue, 2012-08-28 10:26

make our own sinkers. Just need some cheap lead from somwhere! :)

As for hooks, started buying online. Im all for supporting local stores (have bought all rods and reels locally), but when you can buy boxes of gamagatsu 10's for $16 a box cheaper, swivels half the price, its hard not too.

These are bought from an Australian online store, not overseas.

agree bodie,

buy my rods and reels local, but hooks and swivels are heaps cheaper online in bulk.

i normally buy 2-300 swivels/hooks at a time and also saves me money not running to the tackel shop all the time.

if i can find somewhere to by jinkaii in bulk would be great??

They have some great quality hooks online and are really well priced. They also do some mixed packs to stock up. Ive used them for a couple of years now and will keep using them for many more. Highly recommended.
